The Ark
The Ark is a hotel in the Aberdare Mountains where visitors can view indiginous African animals in their natural habitat from a safe distance while still being quite close by. After the clinics were over, several of the team members drove from Nakuru to the Aberdare Mountains to visit this incredible place. The eastern end of the hotel has viewing areas on four different levels that overlook the water hole where elephants, water buffalo, rhinoceros, wart hogs, gazelles, and other wildlife come to dig in the salty earth and drink. Visitors at The Ark can enjoy hours of filming and watching the wildlife as they interact with each other. People can have a cup of tea or a glass of wine before dinner while they listen to the history of the hotel, and they also have the option of being woken up during the night as different animals come to the water hole.
